Case Study: Royal Residence
A Royal residence situated in the UK recently made the most of our bespoke cold room service to expand their on-site cold storage.
The house got in contact with us looking to purchase a bespoke cold room for their function suite's kitchen. The house holds numerous charity and other events so with an increasingly popular catering function, kitchen staff found that cold storage space was limiting their production capability.
We provided Highgrove House with a 2.16m³ external, completely weatherproof walk-in chiller room capable of maintaining a temperature range between +2°C to +8°C. The residence took advantage of the extensive range of extras that we offer. They required Fermod internal racking, strip curtains, 1.2mm barley seed tread plate flooring and a custom exterior finish in keeping with their facility. All of these were easily sourced and incorporated into their cold room.
The installation of the room was a long time in the making. The royal residence initially contacted us 18 months prior, but first needed to increase their electrical capacity by re-wiring the house which was no small task for this historic building. Over this time, regular contact was maintained with an initial meeting and 2 site surveys taking place. The first site survey was conducted to ascertain the customer's exact requirements, including which external finish they wanted. The second site survey was requested by the Estate Manager, and a complete installation walk-through took place with all details and dates were finalised.
On the day of installation, our skilled staff had built the room in less than a day, with the final result exceeding the customer’s expectation.
